How did my kids turn out Super?

Where do I start to explain or try to understand myself, how my children turned out so good?  They aren't the most mannered, but they have an enormous respect for their parents.........Daddy and Mommy, and for all elders.  Last Friday I was witness to a 4 year old child lashing out at his mom, he was so upset about having to share a toy.  He was so angered, to the point of calling his mom a bad word.  I couldn't believe my ears, and I couldn't believe that the mom took no action to change this behavior.  I'm sure it wasn't the first time this had happened.  The child is clearly not reprimanded when he uses this language.  Once is enough for me, my children would try saying a word I didn't like and that would be the first and only time they would say it.  I would pull them aside or take them into another room, away from the group, and have a long talk with them.  I would always get down to their level so they could see my eyes and my facial expressions, and I would tell them how upset I was at their behavior and how I would not tolerate it.  I must admit that if it were something really unacceptable I would definitely give them a little pinch.  But, sadly now parents aren't doing any such thing.  Most parents are against any type of spanking or hitting.  Everything is now labeled child abuse.  How terrible that some kids are aware of this, and take advantage doing all kinds of bad things, all in knowing they will not get spanked.  I just feel very lucky that my children were always good and they understood when I said something was not acceptable, specially bad words.........those were strictly prohibited in our home.  Even the word "shut up" was prohibited.  We used "be quiet".  I always thought it sounded nicer.

Cooking Club

I'm so excited because our cooking club kicks off tomorrow.  We will be having a meeting to agree on a name for our club, what day and time is best for all, what type of food do we want to cook.  All of those things we must cover before any club starts.  I'm busy preparing an outline for the first meeting, and then we will take it from there.  It will be so fun to try out new dishes and just have lots of fun cooking together.  Okay..........I'm starting off small, it's my first cooking club so I wanted to take it slow.  Yes I have forced some of my family members to join, but some joined out of their own will (the one that loves to eat).

Moni, Andrew, Daddy..............quickly said YES
Gilie...........................................Didn't have a choice.
Erica, might join in if she is home when the club is in session.

We are going to have Fun!   I'll be sure to post some pictures soon.
First meeting tomorrow night :)

Cupcake Love

My sweet Moni is doing cupcakes as a business.....she makes very delicious cupcakes.  The baking gene runs deep in our family, my parents used to own a bakery when I was young, and thanks to that I learned how to decorate cakes.  I used to make wedding cakes and birthday cakes for friends, and I would make descent money doing it, but as life would have it.......I ended up with my arm hurting a lot.  That's what usually happens when you do something repeatedly. So I began to cut back on making cakes.  But now, I have my little baker at home, she enjoys it so much and she is so creative.  I'm so proud to see that she has that in her, It reminds me a lot of me when I was that age.  Well as I was saying, she started making cupcakes and trying to make a little business of it.  This past weekend she made her first cupcake order........for $35.  She will hopefully get more business and eventually save up money for a trip she wants to take with school in a year and a half.  They will be going to Spain and France.  But it cost money that we can't give her.  I think she is a very determined person and she will make it happen.  I'm so proud of her and I hope her dream of this trip will come true.

Max is now 7 months

My precious Max.  Little fella is now 7 mo.....going onto 8 mo. in a few weeks.  I see him so lively, so interested in the world around him, as if discovering all that comes into his view.  I'm enjoying him greatly, I take care of him and he keeps me company while everyone else is gone doing their own thing.  We spend many a time together and give each other lots of love.  He's such a sweet boy.  Sometimes he just stares at me, and I can see so much love inside those beautiful eyes.  I hope he will always be close to me.......and stay as sweet.
